GOOP
So, I just discovered a pretty cool website. It's called GOOP - nourish the inner aspect - By Gwyneth Paltrow. It's a well-designed website that basically wants users to sign up for newsletters and then those newsletters are featured on the website in an archive. Paltrow also features restaurants she likes, as well as recipes. She also talks about fashion, health, living well, art and more. Paltrow writes the blogs herself and talks about, for example, what she made for the holidays and now what type of body cleanses she is going to do, after indulging over the last couple of months. I do have to laugh at that, because how much could Paltrow have indulged. It won't be how I indulged. I'm sure she didn't pig out on too many cakes, candy, wine - really you name it , I ate it. Ug. So, I read about one of the cleanses she is planning to do. You have to check out the detox that she is doing. While, yes, she is eating throughout the day, she is really eating nothing but soup, smoothies and the occasional chicken breast. And get this - NO alcohol - is she serious....I mean really?!?! So, she does the detox for 7 days. So, I'm thinking that I should be able to do the detox for 7 days too right. I mean that's not that long. I'm going to have to think about this. I do want to get in better shape and get my diet straight - maybe this is the ticket. I don't know. I will think about it and keep you posted. In the meantime, I think there is a piece of cheesecake calling my name.

Bridget Jones's Diary
Ok, so I just finished watching Bridget Jones's Diary for the millionth time. I LOVE THIS MOVIE!! I am a singleton, as Bridget calls us, and recently went through a breakup. So, I've been watching this movie non-stop! It is actually somewhat cathartic for me. One of my Favorite parts is in the beginning when she says (after a night of drinking at her house, I think on New Year's) "I have to make sure that I don't end up s&*%faced, listening to sad FM for the over thirties." HAHAHAH! I played that scene over and over. I love the Bridget character, because she is completely relatable for normal women. She loves to drink, eat, smoke (I don't love smoking) - basically lives life. I also love that she says she feels like an idiot most of the time. I feel, not like an idiot, but weird or different than most people, most of the time.
I also love the scene where she's drunk on those canoes with Daniel Cleaver. They are having so much fun and her future beau is looking on with jealously!
But I also think this is such a well-made movie. The characters are well-developed, the story moves along at a nice pace and a sense of tension is created. I know this movie is based on a book, but it translated seamlessly to the silver screen (although I won't totally know that, as I haven't read the book). The movie takes you on a journey with Bridget through her life, her drinking, her interactions with her parents, friends and of course her boyfriends. I love this movie and until I recover from my breakup will be watching it incessantly.
So, now Bridget Jones the book is on my list to read and as soon as I do, I will let you all know what I think. I know you'll be waiting;)
First Timer
Hi! This is my first blog entry. I am so excited! I've never been that into blogging, but I recently noticed that a lot of my friends are doing it. So, I thought I'd give it a try. (Only after a lot of peer pressure from my friends who live in different cities - thanks Amanda;) HaHa! So, this first entry is kind of lame, but I promise they will get better. Ok, until next time - see you in the movies!
